NY GOP Picks Mazi Melesa Pilip – a Registered Democrat – to Succeed Conservative George Santos to Represent New York’s 3rd Congressional District | The Gateway Pundit

New York Republicans selected Mazi Melesa Pilip to succeed George Santos within the US Congress.

In an unprecedented transfer, Congressional Republicans eliminated Santos from Congress after he was accused of a criminal offense – One thing Democrats would by no means consider doing.

Pilip will face former Rep. Tom Suozzi who’s the Democrat Social gathering’s candidate.

Mazi Pilip has been enrolled as Democrat since 2012 and served within the Israeli Protection Forces as an Ethiopian-born Jew who fled to Israel as a toddler.

In response to The Huffington Post, Mazi Melesa Pilip is a registered Democrat.

Pilip’s political profession has been brief to date. She first gained election to the Nassau County legislature in 2021 and gained reelection final month. Though Pilip was elected on the Republican line, she is a registered Democrat, in keeping with reporting from The New York Occasions.

A spokesperson for the Nassau County Republican Social gathering didn’t instantly return a request for remark. New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox declined to remark.

The Republican Jewish Coalition, the biggest GOP-aligned Jewish political group, endorsed Pilip’s candidacy on Thursday.

George Santos was a conservative voter with 100% rating from from Heritage Motion.

Evidently, George Santos was too conservative for the New York GOP.
