The Cincinnati Bengals have been cleared by the NFL over a Joe Burrow-related damage controversy.
The Bengals had been discovered to be in full compliance with NFL damage reporting guidelines forward of their Week 11 recreation towards the Baltimore Ravens, in accordance with Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. Which means the group won’t face any penalties over claims that they hid a wrist damage to Burrow heading into the competition.
Burrow appeared in a group video wearing some sort of wrist sleeve when the Bengals arrived in Baltimore, though he was not listed on the damage report forward of the sport. Hypothesis grew that the Bengals may need been hiding one thing when Burrow suffered what turned out to be a season-ending wrist injury in that week’s recreation. After the sport, Burrow mentioned he was simply wearing a compression sleeve for the team flight.
The Bengals may have been fined and even stripped of a draft choose if the NFL discovered that they had been hiding a pre-existing damage to Burrow. In the end, his rationalization appears to have checked out.
