A whole lot of hundreds of Palestinians in Rafah – Gaza’s southernmost metropolis – arrived there after being pressured to maneuver time and again, fleeing Israeli air strikes and floor assaults.
However Israel’s prime minister has now requested troops to “put together to function” in Rafah too. He says “complete victory” by Israel over Hamas is simply months away.
On Friday, Benjamin Netanyahu mentioned he had ordered the army to arrange a twin plan to evacuate civilians from town, to make manner for an expanded operation there.
“We by no means need to depart Gaza,” says Umm Mohammad, a displaced lady. “We have been born right here, we stay right here and we need to die right here.”
The US has warned it is not going to assist an unplanned Israeli offensive in Rafah, which it says can be a “catastrophe”.
