Florida Governor Ron DeSantis jabbed January 6 protesters, lots of whom stay imprisoned for merely trespassing, throughout a CNN city corridor in Iowa on Thursday.
DeSantis was unsympathetic to their plight, saying they didn’t “show patriotism” whereas protesting the election certification.
“Did the Jan. 6 insurrectionists show patriotism, as a few of them declare they did?” DeSantis was requested by a voter.
“No, in fact not. That was not an excellent day for the nation,” DeSantis replied.
“I believe the media has taken that and the left has taken that and actually tried to politicize it, nevertheless it was not an excellent day for the nation,” the Republican presidential candidate continued. “Patriotism to me is once you put your self on the market and put service above self.”

The feedback instantly went viral on social media with many mentioning that he’s alienating half of the celebration.
As of December, roughly 1,240 individuals have been arrested for being on the Capitol.
The New York Times reported earlier this week, “… which may be solely half of the entire indictments that can in the end be filed.”
