A tentative settlement has been reached to maintain the Sixers in Philadelphia, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker announced on Twitter. The deal, which should be authorized by metropolis council, includes a brand new area in Middle Metropolis.
“This can be a historic settlement,” Parker stated. “It’s the greatest monetary deal ever entered into by a Philadelphia mayor for a neighborhood sports activities area. I wholeheartedly consider it’s the proper deal for the folks of Philadelphia.”
The brand new area could be positioned on Market Road East, which Jeff Gammage, Sean Collins Walsh and Ximena Conde of The Philadelphia Inquirer describe as a “beleaguered” part of town.
