The Pittsburgh Pirates reinstated catcher Joey Bart from the 10-day injured record on Friday.
Bart was positioned on the IL on Aug. 26 as a consequence of a left hamstring pressure. He was injured the earlier evening whereas trying to beat out a grounder within the first inning of Pittsburgh’s 4-3 house victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
Bart is batting .272 with 12 house runs and 39 RBIs in 63 video games since he was traded from the San Francisco Giants to the Pirates on April 2.
Bart, 27, is a profession .235 hitter with 23 homers and 77 RBIs in 225 video games for the Giants (2020-23) and Pirates. The Giants chosen him second total within the 2018 MLB Draft.
Additionally on Friday, the Pirates designated outfielder Billy McKinney for task.
McKinney, 30, batted .200 (5-for-25) with two RBIs in 10 video games this season.
