4-time NBA All-Star level guard Kemba Walker introduced his retirement on Tuesday, thanking basketball for the “wonderful journey.”
Walker was chosen Most Excellent Participant of the 2011 NCAA Event gained by UConn in 2011, months earlier than Charlotte chosen him with the No. 9 total decide of the NBA draft.
He performed eight seasons in Charlotte earlier than signing a four-year, $141 million contract in July 2019 as a part of a sign-and-trade cope with the Boston Celtics.
After two seasons with the Celtics, he bounced across the NBA, traded and launched twice, and ending his profession with brief stints with the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks.

“This has all been a dream,” continued Walker, who twice gained the Joe Dumars Trophy for sportsmanship. “Once I look again, I nonetheless cannot consider the issues I achieved in my profession. … Basketball will perpetually be part of my life so this is not goodbye. I am excited for what’s subsequent.”
